Autumn is a magical time at Woodchester Valley. As the leaves begin to turn and the vineyard takes on rich shades of gold and amber, the year's work reaches its most exciting chapter – harvest.

For our vineyard and winery teams, harvest is the culmination of months of dedication. From winter pruning and spring bud rubbing to careful canopy management throughout the summer, every season plays its part in producing exceptional fruit. Harvest is when those efforts finally come together.

Unlike many vineyards around the world, every grape at Woodchester Valley is picked by hand. Timing is everything. The team carefully monitors the fruit each day, balancing sugar, acidity and flavour while keeping one eye firmly on the ever-changing English weather. Once the grapes are ready, they are picked and pressed on the very same day to preserve their freshness and quality.

For visitors, it's a wonderful time to experience the vineyard. There is an unmistakable energy in the air as tractors move between the vines, baskets of freshly harvested grapes arrive at the winery, and another vintage begins its journey from vine to bottle.

As a proud single-estate vineyard, every bottle of Woodchester Valley wine is made exclusively from grapes grown on our own Cotswold vineyards. Visiting during harvest offers a unique glimpse into this process and a chance to experience the season that shapes every wine we produce.

Our Harvest Package is designed for couples staying in our Vineyard Barns, but we have a range of accommodation to suit different types of escapes.

For a little more space, our Retreat offers a peaceful countryside stay with beautiful views across the vineyard and valley. If you're planning a getaway with family or friends, Woodchester Valley House sleeps up to 13 guests, making it ideal for autumn celebrations, walking weekends or simply gathering together around great food and wine.

Travelling with your four-legged friend? Selected accommodation is dog friendly too, so everyone can enjoy exploring the surrounding Cotswold countryside.
