An exciting new product for Woodchester Valley, our first release Verjuice was made from our 2024 Green Harvest. This is the early harvest of unripe grapes to help the remaining bunches ripen.

A non-alcoholic product, Verjuice has been used as a flavour enhancer in sauces and dishes as far back as ancient Roman times. It is experiencing a revival in the culinary world and is ideal to replace wine or lemon juice in cooking. Verjuice is also a great ingredient for cocktails & mocktails!

Recipe Suggestions

Woodchester Verjuice Spritz – A deliciously refreshing mocktail to be enjoyed on its own or over dinner with friends.
Over ice, pour 75ml Woodchester Verjuice, 75ml Tonic Water & 75ml Soda Water. Add a sprig of Rosemary & a slice of Lemon to the glass & stir.

Caper, Herb & Verjuice Dressing – Serve over cooked New Potatoes with grilled Lamb and Fish, or as a dressing for a fresh summer salad.
Combine 1tbsp finely chopped small Capers, 15g finely chopped Parsley, Mint, Dill and Coriander, 50ml Verjuice and 2tbsp Olive Oil. Add the Zest & Juice of half a lemon & season to taste.

Piri Piri Roast Chicken
Pour 200ml of Verjuice over the chicken before rubbing on your Piri Piri paste to add depth & acidity to the flavours.

Braised Fennel –  Serve with fish, roast chicken or with roast beetroot, goats chese and puy lentils.
Put Fennel & Onion wedges in an ovenproof dish. Add crushed Garlic cloves, 100ml of Verjuice, salt and pepper and mix well. Cover and cook for one hour. Remove cover and cook for a further 30 minutes until Fennel is soft and
slightly golden.

 

Delivery

Orders received before 10am are dispatched on a next day delivery service, but please allow 2-3 working days, but can be up to five working days in busy periods.

Please provide an email address and a mobile phone number for order tracking and delivery puproses. For deliveries sent by our courier (ParcelForce), an email and text message will be sent to you to let you know when your delivery will arrive. If a landline number is provided, this will not be used – you will just receive an email notification instead. For local deliveries, we will use your number only to call you if lost.

LOCAL DELIVERY: If the delivery address is within GL5, GL6, GL8, GL10 or GL11 then delivery is free for 6+ bottles. This will automatically apply at the check-out. For other orders, a charge of £9.99 will apply.

MAINLAND UK: Delivery is free for all orders over £150 to Mainland UK. For orders under this a charge of £9.99 will apply.

Additional charges will apply for orders to Northern Ireland, the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Man and the Scottish Islands, please contact us for details. Unfortunately we currently cannot ship overseas.
