For our mid-summer release, we want to introduce you to our newest vintage, the 2021 Pinot
Précoce. This is an easy-drinking summer red which is a 100% Pinot Précoce varietal. While we do
refer to the grape by its proper name, the Précoce is simply a spontaneous mutation of the Pinot
Noir grape and differs only by its smaller bunches, lower yields and by its ripening schedule. To all
intents and purposes, both grapes are Pinot Noir and both grant much joy upon consumption. Pinot
Précoce, however, ripens two to three weeks earlier which allows England’s cooler climate to enjoy
the same flavours of Pinot Noir that we know and love, without having to wait until winter for it to
ripen.


While we are releasing this still red wine, it is the exact same variety we use for our ever-popular,
Pinot Rosé. In the case of our Pinot Rosé, we pick those grapes about 2-3 weeks earlier than the
grapes intended for our still reds. We allow those grapes for our Pinot Précoce Red to sit on the vine
just a bit longer so the acidity will be slightly lower, allowing for a smooth, rich still red to result. If

delicious wines from the comfort of our sun-drenched terrace. But if you are too busy with summer
holidays and camps, then send a case to your home and get ready for a burst of flavour on your
palate!


On the nose, there is a pronounced bouquet of rich cherry notes and charred wood. There are also
subtle notes of vanilla and smoke, influenced from our one-year barrel-ageing process. The Pinot
Précoce 2021 is incredibly smooth on the palate with gentle oak, rich red cherries and a hint of
cranberry. The stunning garnet colour is perfectly balanced with its well-rounded tannins and tender
acidity. This medium-bodied dry red can even be slightly chilled for those high summer days. It pairs
flawlessly with carpaccio topped with roasted pine nuts, truffle fries, or a miso-glazed tuna steak to
accompany your elevated Sunday afternoon barbeque.
