Well we certainly picked a challenging week to bottle our 2017 still wines! The “beast from the East” hit us in full force on Thursday as the temperatures plummeted and we were well and truly snowed in. The weather caused all sorts of problems from the bottles being too cold (and labels not sticking to them) to frozen water pipes and having to hike up and down through the snow to get to the winery. However we ‘battled’ on and eventually finished only half a day behind schedule. Our 2017 vintage still wines will be released later on this year. As well as our usual range of whites and rosés we have two new wines for the list; our first ever Pinot Noir (from our 2016 harvest) and a small amount of our first Sauvignon Blanc! A huge thanks to the BevTech team for their resourcefulness over the past few days and to the team at Fruitful Jobs! That’s the last major activity in the winery for a while, until we bottle our sparkling wines over the summer. Once the snow has thawed and spring finally arrives we’ll be looking forward to the first signs of life from the vines.

Why not come and visit us at the vineyard to see that all in action; we have tours and tastings running throughout the year and we’ve also just opened our guest rooms on site at our Woodchester vineyard, with an introductory 15% discount for all stays booked before the end of May 2018.
