Winter and vineyards might not sound like the most natural pairing but it’s a beautiful time to come and visit! We’re open all year round for tours, tastings and events and our tour host Diana has put together her Top Ten Reasons to come and visit us over the winter months.

  1. Smaller crowds! Our vineyard can be bustling in summertime, but once winter hits, the crowds gradually slow down. With a smaller crowd, you get more one on one time with our staff and get that “private tour” feel for the cost of a regular tour. Either way, our staff will make you feel like a family as you peacefully tour our scenic vines.
  2. Uninterrupted views. With harvest complete and most of the leaves falling, you can see for miles across the Stroud valley as you take in the views of one of the most picturesque vineyards in the country. You can even see our first planted acre just across the way in the lovely village of Amberley.
  3. Wildlife. With wintertime comes more quiet and tranquillity in the valley, and with it the wildlife comes out to play. Catch a glimpse of the pheasants strolling through the vines or our two vineyard cats out for a play amongst the vines.
  4. Cosy Fires. In the chillier months, we have a constant log fire burning so cosy on up with our flannel blankets to share. Enjoy a glass of fizz or our delicious still red wine, perfect on a chilly wintery day.
  5. Festivities. In the wintertime, although harvest is finished, our monthly events have not! Pop over to the vineyard for our relaxed wine and cheese evenings with a flight of wine and some artisanal cheeses and snacks. Or join us on our festive nights, like our Grand Christmas Tastings, complete with an introduction and paired food tastings with our owner or head winemaker. Either way, you will be treated like a local here and warmly welcomed and served.
  6. Bring your furry ones – vineyard dog walks are back! With the vineyard a bit calmer after the harvest, bring your pup along for our vineyard tour and dog walks. We provide the doggy biscuits for the pup and the flight of wines for you. But don’t wait, as these tours are a best seller!
  7. Stressless Shopping. Where else can you enjoy a glass of fizz while you shop for your loved ones? Join us on our bespoke Christmas shopping days, where you will shop and sip in peace.
  8. Taste a new vintage. Come try our recently released Rose, or as our staff call it our “winter rose.” This Regent varietal Rose is heavier and richer than a typical Rose and will pair perfectly with all of your winter Sunday Roasts. We’ve also our award winning Sauvignon Blanc as one of the wines on our tastings in December.
  9. Stay for the weekend in the peace and quiet. Snag a last minute booking at one of our on-site cottages or barns. Wake up amongst the vines and stoke the fire in your personal cottage, stocked full of our delicious wines.
  10. Share! Share a glass or a bottle here at the vineyard with a loved one. Take in the views and revel in the beauty of our vineyard nestled in the Cotswolds away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Cheers!

We hope to see you up at the vineyard! Have a look at our upcoming events schedule below
