About The Wine

Tasting Notes

Sauvignon Blanc: “This Sauvignon Blanc has astonishing ripeness and weight which belies its English cool climate origin. The steep slopes at Woodchester's Stonehouse site capture the sun and this wine has natural alcohol of 12%. Whilst the nose has all the cut grass and lemon, lime notes that you'd expect, there are also hints of tangerine, pink grapefruit and orange blossom. The palate is mouthwatering with lusciously ripe gooseberry, white peach and tropical fruits. The flavour really builds in the mouth to a long finish. This would pair well with richer fish dishes, sole meunière, fish pie, seafood risotto, even paella, as well as goats' cheese”

Bacchus: A quintessential representation of the varietal style. Aromatic yet dry, With both Early and Late harvested fruit this wine offers complex flavours of zesty citrus and gooseberry, subtle lychee and pineapple, with a distinctive elderflower aroma. The finish is mouthwatering and incredibly refreshing.

Orpheus Bacchus: The Orpheus is a wine of great finesse, Initial aromas of citrus and stone fruits accented by hints of jasmine and mineral notes opening to reveal nuances of pear, fennel and preserved lemon. On the palate there is plenty of silky orchard fruit and a deliciously creamy texture.

Delivery

Orders received before 10am are dispatched on a next day delivery service, but please allow 2-3 working days, but can be up to five working days in busy periods.

Please provide an email address and a mobile phone number for order tracking and delivery puproses. For deliveries sent by our courier (ParcelForce), an email and text message will be sent to you to let you know when your delivery will arrive. If a landline number is provided, this will not be used – you will just receive an email notification instead. For local deliveries, we will use your number only to call you if lost.

LOCAL DELIVERY: If the delivery address is within GL5, GL6, GL8, GL10 or GL11 then delivery is free for 6+ bottles. This will automatically apply at the check-out. For other orders, a charge of £9.99 will apply.

MAINLAND UK: Delivery is free for all orders over £150 to Mainland UK. For orders under this a charge of £9.99 will apply.

Additional charges will apply for orders to Northern Ireland, the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Man and the Scottish Islands, please contact us for details. Unfortunately we currently cannot ship overseas.

Made from our very best parcels of Bacchus grapes, a unique expression of Bacchus from some of our oldest vines. The Orpheus is a wine of great finesse, a limited range only made in selected years. The 2022 vintage Orpheus Bacchus is rich and complex reflecting the ripe and intensly flavoured fruit from the 2022 harvest. Aromatic with gooseberry and elderflower on the nose and hints of tropical fruits, on the palate it builds from rich, creamy lemon to subtle tropical fruits. It has great flavour length and structure, lingering long on the finish which is dry and well rounded.
